  • The dentist is always a stressful place to go for many people. However this particular office is definitely better than any other dentist clinic. The reception team is friendly and helpful with a genuine kindness. The hygienists are very knowledgeable and very competent at their jobs. The dentists have a good bedside manner.   • I had two teeth filled today by Dr. Dalton. I was very nervous about going to a new dental clinic but she was extremely kind and did an excellent job that was efficient and painless. The man assisting her was also friendly and professional and so were the staff at the front desk.   • Dr. Diana Ross, Dentist in LifeSmiles Dental - Grant Park Mall - Portrait Photo

    Dr Diana Ross

    General Dentist

    Dr. Diana Ross (nee Bodiroga) is a Winnipegger from birth and is fluent in both English and Serbian. She earned her BSc in Biochemistry at the University of Winnipeg and her Doctor of Medical Dentistry at the University of Manitoba in 2008. Her career began in a rural Manitoba community but she was drawn back to Winnipeg in 2010 when she joined us at both LifeSmiles Grant Park and Sargent offices.

    She has expanded her dental training with courses at the Misch Implant Institute and Nobel Biocare Implant Restorative Training. Her interest in Sedation Dentistry continues with attendance at courses in Edmonton, Toronto and Winnipeg for both Nitrous and conscious sedation. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, cooking and especially spending time outdoors with her husband and daughter.

    General Dentist

    Dr. Irena Kovacevic earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Manitoba College of Dentistry in 2018. Prior to that, she completed a Bachelor of Science from the University of Winnipeg.

    Dr. Kovacevic has advanced training to be able to provide multiple types of sedation to patients. She co-authored the “Handbook to Mixed Modality Sedation” which is currently being used as a teaching tool for the conscious sedation licencing course for dentists in Manitoba. Dr. Kovacevic believes in helping anyone overcome their fear of the dentist. She is presently accepting new patients at our Grant Park location.

    In her spare time, she can be found spending time with her family and cheering on her favourite tennis players.

    Dr. Lesia Kulbaba, BSc. received her Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree from the University of Manitoba in 1996.

    Before joining our team in 2011, she owned her own practice and was head of the Dental department at Seven Oaks General Hospital.

    She is committed to serving her patient with a full range of high quality dentistry at both our Grant Park and Sargent offices. Dr. Kulbaba is also one of only 2 dentists in Winnipeg that provide Fastbraces Technology to straighten and realign teeth.

    She spends any and all free time with her daughter.

    General Dentist

    Dr. Mary Mikhaeil was born in Alexandria, Egypt and later immigrated to Canada in 2005. She completed her post-secondary education in Winnipeg and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio, US.

    Dr. Mikhaeil loves getting to know her patients, and she emphasizes preventive dentistry.

    While she is not in the dental office, she can be found reading, swimming, travelling, and spending time with her family.

    General Dentist

    Dr. Schenley Poliah earned his Doctor of Medical Dentistry from the University of Manitoba in 1987; upon graduation he was honoured with the Canadian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Award.

    For several years he worked as a dentist for the Federal Government in Northern Canada helping those who didn’t have easy access to dental care. He joined LifeSmiles Dental full time in 2002 where he has built a large patient base with his skill and education in Oral Surgery and Implant Placement.

    In his spare time, Dr. Poliah focuses his energy on golf, MMA/Kickboxing and of course, spending time with his children

    General Dentist

    Dr. Wisam Helewa graduated from the University of Manitoba College of Dentistry in 2012 and has worked at Lifesmiles in the Grant Park shopping centre ever since! He is proficient at all aspects of dentistry and likes instilling confidence in all his patients. A nurturing and calm atmosphere is what you will find under his care.

    Always looking to learn more and more, Dr. Helewa has travelled all over North America and has logged many hundreds of hours of continuing education including areas such as dental implant surgery and porcelain veneers. He has also taught and mentored many dental students at the University of Manitoba dental college.

    He is happy to continue providing comprehensive dental care to the great people of Winnipeg and surrounding areas. In his spare time he likes playing with his 2 daughters in the backyard, going to the gym, and playing guitar with friends.

    Dr. Ovaisy earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Manitoba, where she graduated with strong academic standing. She completed her high school and undergraduate studies in Toronto, graduating summa cum laude. Inspired by her mother—a dentist with more than 30 years of experience—Dr. Ovaisy followed in her footsteps to build a meaningful and patient-focused career in dentistry. Dr. Ovaisy is known for her gentle, empathetic approach and her genuine commitment to patient care.

    She provides comprehensive dental services for patients of all ages, from children to seniors, and takes the time to listen carefully, understand individual concerns, and clearly explain treatment options so patients feel confident and involved in their care. Recognizing that dental visits can feel stressful for some, Dr. Ovaisy is especially mindful of patients who experience dental anxiety. Through her calm demeanor, clear communication, and reassuring presence, she works to create a comfortable and supportive environment where patients feel at ease throughout their visit.

    Outside of dentistry, Dr. Ovaisy enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new coffee shops, and staying active.

    General Dentist

    Born and raised in Winnipeg, Dr. Rubin completed his undergraduate education at the University of Manitoba and graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry in 1990 with the University Gold Medal. In addition, Dr. Rubin was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Dentistry (Bsc.Dent) for his research into pediatric dental treatment on remote reserves in Manitoba.

    Dr. Rubin has practiced his entire career in Winnipeg. He is a member of the Winnipeg Dental Society, Manitoba Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association and the American Academy of Clear Aligners. He has served on the Ethics Committee of the MDA, was a Student Mentor at the College of Dentistry, University of Manitoba and is currently a member of the MDA Peer Review Committee.

    Dr. Rubin has taken numerous educational courses since graduation, with a particular emphasis on cosmetic dentistry and adult orthodontic treatment. He is a Certified InvisalignProvider. He spends countless hours ensuring that he is up to date on all advancements in dental technology and procedures to provide the most current and proven treatment options to his patients. His goal is to create a relaxed, personable, comfortable environment for his patients.

    In his spare time, Dr. Rubin enjoys reading, sports & fitness and travel. He’s an avid Winnipeg Jets fan. Dr. Rubin & his wife Janice have 2 adult children.

    Dr Amit Rekhi

    General Dentist

    Dr. Amit Rekhi completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto in 2021, where he graduated with honours. He is currently undergoing specialty training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. Before moving to Winnipeg in 2024, Dr. Amit worked in Southern Ontario as a general dentist. He likes all aspects of general dentistry and has a particular interest in orthodontics. He believes in the philosophy of treating the patient the same way as one would like to be treated themselves. Other than English, Dr. Amit can converse in Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. In his spare time, he likes to travel and spend time outdoors.
