Choosing a dentist is a big decision, but it’s one that can last a lifetime if done correctly. It is hard to know exactly what questions to ask or what you need to know to make that decision. At LifeSmiles Dental, we have created a checklist to help you do just that. It will help you to compare any dental office before you make that first appointment.
Do their hours fit YOUR schedule?
You should be able to work your dental appointment around your schedule, not theirs.
LifeSmiles is open when you need them, 6 days a week including early mornings and late evenings.
Do they practice pain-free dentistry?
You should not have to endure any pain whatsoever.
Lifesmiles offers nitrous oxide and oral sedation to manage your pain and stress level or you can go the traditional route of local anesthetic and still feel no pain.
How does the office handle insurance?
They should be able to bill your insurance company directly.
LifeSmiles handles all of your insurance paperwork (no filling out forms) and we find out what is covered before we start so there are no surprises.
What if your insurance doesn’t cover the work you need?
They should have alternate financing options.
LifeSmiles has several different interest-free payment plans to make it easier for you to get your dental work done when you need it.
Can they supply you with information regarding the procedures without talking to a dentist?
You shouldn’t have to make an appointment or go in for a consultation just to find out how they handle different procedures.
LifeSmiles has numerous pamphlets, handbooks, reports and brochures so you know exactly what methods the dentist will use to care for your oral health.
Do they have ample free parking?
You shouldn’t have to pay for parking for the privilege of going to get your dental work done.
LifeSmiles is in a shopping mall with more than enough parking all year long.
Do they explain your insurance coverage and how it works to you, or do you have to explain it to them?
LifeSmiles has a dedicated treatment coordinator to help you understand your insurance, including what it covers and how it works.
Can they fit emergency patients in if you chip a tooth, lose a filling, have severe pain, etc.?
If a clinic only has 1 or 2 dentists, they will have trouble fitting in a real emergency.
LifeSmiles has 5 dentists on staff and can usually handle your situation the same day.
Do you have to go elsewhere to get much of your work done?
If a convenient location is important, do you want to drive all over the city to get your dental work completed? LifeSmiles has 5 dentists on staff, each providing their own experience and expertise. This allows us to perform almost all of the procedures you will require. Together, we bring over 50 years of experience to your dental care.
Does the support staff show sincere care for your comfort and wellbeing?
Some of your time will be spent with staff other than the dentist. Their skill and attitude can greatly affect your dental experience. At LifeSmiles, our support staff will make your visit as comfortable as possible.
